2 votes in 1 day!

Marc got to vote in the NC primaries and the French Presidential elections on Saturday!

The NC primaries is official tomorrow (May 8th), and it is worrying that Amendment One stands a good chance of getting passed in NC. For those of you who are unaware of what this proposed amendent actually entails, go to ProtectNCFamilies.org to learn more disturbing news.
A note 'AGAINST' will:
• Protect health care for families and children.
• Protect domestic violence protections for unmarried women.
• Protect hospital visitation and end-of-life directives for unmarried couples.
• Protect seniors from losing survivor benefits.
• Protect All NC families.

A vote 'for', will:
• Ban civil unions & strip domestic partnership benefits (e.g., being involved in any health-related decisions for loved one because you are not married to your loved one)
• Eliminate health care, prescription drug coverage and other benefits for public employees and children receiving domestic partner benefits.
• Threaten protections for all unmarried couples in North Carolina.
Amendment One protects no one. Instead it automatically strips North Carolina families and children of basic health care, threatens parental rights, and throws basic protections like domestic violence laws into what many are calling “legal chaos.”
