We just got back earlier this evening from our trip to the Outerbanks. Marc raced in the half-marathon there, coming in 6th overall, 2nd in his age group, and was the first non-Kenyan! Not bad for a white guy.

Marc is now munching away (his 3rd snack since dinner tonight!) -- he is a bottomless pit after having expended lots of energy today.

It was a competitive group this year as the NC Track & Field folks really made an effort to attract people.
There was a good group of Kenyans in the race which made for some nice competition in a tough course (lots of head wind, some rain, and an intimidating looking bridge). For the results, go to http://www.doitsports.com/newresults3/client/116205_180272_2006.html

Earlier this week Marc & I went to Margaret's Cantina, our annual November tradition (that was where we went the very first time we went out to dinner together) and caught "The Prestige". It was a somewhat disturbing movie in terms of how obsessive the characters were. I thought the twists in the story was quite well done and the acting was good, although some parts were a little far flung. Marc didn't like the vengeful tone of the movie and thought the characters lacked heart and thus didn't seem real.

We appear to be having very bad luck with our computers this semester. Marc's just died on Friday, which is a real annoyance since he has so much to do. We are trying to share my laptop which has issues of its own right now. I think we will have to bite the bullet and get a new laptop for Marc --- well, it's a good thing he can run fast and make some extra moolah to cover unexpected expenses like this! Ok, will keep this short as I should not hog the computer.
