We are blogging while having a midnight snack of Carrot soup! yum....
Marc now is basically all set up with his new laptop after many hours of frustration trying to pull things out of his old hard drive, downloading programs he needs, and setting all his preferences, etc. Technology can be a real boon & bane! Hopefully this new laptop will last the next 3 years at least! For all you Singapore people, we are back on SKYPE!

This will be a very short week as we head to Chicago mid-day on Wednesday to enjoy Thanksgiving with five other Jeulands, two Wares (one of which was once a Jeuland) and one Burgert. Marc will be running in a 8 K race on Turkey Day AM in Lincoln Park and Shu Wen will get to see where he went to school.

This past week was fairly uneventful for the two of us. We did receive a surprise wine shipment from New York, which we suspect is from somebody French for a couple of reasons: 1) it contains good wine, 2) it was addressed to "Marc et Shu Wen". Apparently our Chicago parents also received such a shipment, so it was not from them! We are working on solving the mystery, and we have a hypothesis to test.

Otherwise, Marc was trying to work on other computers all week (including Shu Wen's). Shu Wen herself was working somewhere else, unbeknownst to Marc.

Our church held its Alternative Christmas Market this weekend. The idea of the market is to provide people in this community with an opportunity to purchase gifts that are socially meaningful and do not add to the consumeristic fervor of this world. We are not sure how successful it is in some respects, but the idea is a good one, and most of the gifts are for a good cause. Marc manned the Gifts of Aid table for Church World Service, and Shuwen took Marc's wallet and went shopping! We are close to being done with our X'mas shopping!
