We are back from our trip to Christine & Chris' where we ate well (as usual) and had a lovely time catching up with one another, taking walks along trails, doing some reading, cooking, and playing with the cats whenever they weren't hiding.
After a heavy Christmas dinner, we attended a beautiful Moravian Christmas Eve service in Bethlehem. Someday we will have to spend more time in that town to visit the historical sites and learn more about the Moravian culture.Christine & Chris were wonderful hosts, rooming and feeding us all week long. We were spoiled rotten!
On our last evening, we went to Savona in Radnor where we had a seven-course meal and wine accompaniment for each course. The meal was very interesting and Shuwen had escargots for the first time! We were practically having to roll out of the restaurant.
We stopped in DC on our drive back to NC to get our visas from the Ethiopian Embassy, meet Keith for lunch and see Lara. Our meetings were brief, but we are glad to have been able to connect with a few friends along the way.
Now that we are back in NC, we will have to do have a week-long 'detox' -- although so far that hasn't been too successful as Marc grilled two Filet Mignons for dinner tonight, and we are having dinner at a church couple's tomorrow!
