Where are you in the GLOBESITY scale?

This is a fun & geeky calculator to check out and see where you stand within your country & globally in terms of your BMI given your age & gender.

We particularly like how this tells us how severely overweight/ obese the world in general is (yes, yes, of course BMI is not the best way to measure fatness… but at a population level it certainly is the easiest).

The related open-source BMC publication talks of the bio-mass implications:

If anyone is interested, both Marc & I have BMIs of 20. Marc is lighter than 97% of males 30-44y in the US (94% of males 30-44y in France), 75% of males 30-44y in the world, and is most like someone from Eritrea. I am lighter than 94% of females 30-44 in the US (77% of females 30-44y in Singapore), 80% of females 30-44y in the world, and am most like someone from Ethiopia.

Have fun!
